I hear that you and your band have sold your guitars and bought turntables.

[Podcast] Jung - Eclectric Summer DJ Competition Mix

18 09 2008

I have been away enjoying the summer once again, and frankly couldn’t be assed to do a mix, but am going to get back on the monthly mixes hopefully now the nights are getting dark and boring.
This was a mix originally intended solely for use in a competiton for the good people over at Eclectric, but I felt it was too good to let dissapear into the midsts, so am going to stick it up for your entertainment as well.
It is a bit rough around the edges because I forgot when the deadline was until the day before, so it was thrown together in one attempt rather than a couple of practices.
Yes it is quite short at 45 minutes, but it was a lot of fun to try and get a decent flow in just over 40 minutes rather than the usual 70. Either way, I think it’s a good enough mix to kick the podcast back off with, so get it down you…

[Podcast] Jung - Chew The Fat @ The End, 9th May 08

10 05 2008

Yes, luckily for those of you who were foolish to miss out on an absolutely brilliant night, I recorded my Chew The Fat! debut set.
It was only warm up so it’s quite chilled and jazzy, but thought I’d stick it online for you all as it’s probably more than suited to sticking it on the background whilst you cook a BBQ or whatever it is you’re doing to soak up this beautiful sunshine we’ve got right now.
Give it a listen, let me know what you think, much love.

I’ve Been Far Too Neglectful

28 08 2007

Over the last two months I may as well have not even had a blog, considering I’ve not even posted anything here for the whole summer. I must confess I’ve been out living the dream, and can you blame me? But I will try and be a lot more strict and get some kind of ramble posted atleast once a week, as well as getting back to the monthly podcasts.
You know it makes sense.

Jung

PS: Everyone check out Kate Nash, great voice, no nonsense lyrics that you can relate to & she’s hot. Which is coincidental considering I actually am looking for a wife.
It’s what pop music should sound like.

GU32 Adam Freeland: Mexico City, Tracklist Et al…

14 04 2007

If you've checked out some of the earlier posts on the blog, you'll have probably seen this post about Adam Freeland's upcoming Global Underground Mix, which is obviously going to be slightly ace.
For those of you interested in the tracklist, here it is…

  • Disc One

    01. Faze Action - In The Trees (Carl Craig Mix)
    02. Revl9n - Walking Machine (Sebastian Remix)
    03. Superdiscount - F***
    04. KIM - Wet n Wild (Midnight Juggernaughts Mix)
    05. Mr Oizo - Half An Edit
    06. Adam Freeland - Silverlake Pills
    07. KIM - By The Time They Reach You (Bagraiders Mix)
    08. Does It Offend You, Yeah? - Weird Science
    09. Beauty School - Disco Sux (Stone Lions Mix)
    10. Oliver Huntemann - 37 Grad
    11. Justice - Phantom
    12. Minimal Compact - Deadly Weapons (Optimo Mix)
    13. Spank - Rock Bump (Switch Mix)
    14. Phones - Sharpen The Knives
    15. Trabant - The One (Paraone Mix)
    16. Kavinsky - Testarossa (SebastiAn Mix)
    17. Mylo - Paris 400 (As We Fall Remix)

  • Disc Two

    01. Spaceman 3 - Extacy Symphony
    02. My My - Butterflies & Zebras
    03. Lee Jones - There Comes A Time (Prins Thomas Miks)
    04. Justus Kohncke - Advance
    05. 120 Days - Come Out
    06. Gui Borrato - Terminal
    07. James Holden - Lump
    08. Cobblestone Jazz - Dump Truck
    09. Silversun Pickups - Lazy Eye
    10. Substance & Vainqueur - Immersion
    11. Fujiya & Miyagi - Ankle Injuries
    12. Andrew Weatherall - Feathers
    13. B-Movie - Nowhere Girl (Freeland Mix)
    14. Tom Vek - Nothing But Green Lights (Phones Mix)

To be fair think some of it has 'older' records on there, such as Huntemann's 37 Grad, and the first CD does look slightly predictable, although it does look like a gorgeous tracklist none the less. To be honest I'm just jealous that it's not one of my mixes.
Although talking of my mixes, I definitely think you should check out the latest installment of the podcast, which can be found Here
(I do have some more info on the Freeland mix too, but I can't remember where I've put it, so i'll edit this a bit later…)

A Stroke of Genius (Sort of)

29 03 2007

Long story short, I've managed to restore all the lost content from the last few weeks. I remembered that when search engines such as Google and Live.com crawl websites, they cache the pages they've archived. Luckily Live.com crawled the site the day before I lost everything, and so by using their cached pages I was able to get all the old blog posts back, excellent. Cool

New podcast mix is in the works, and I'm trying to persaude a few people to do me some featured mixes over the next couple of weeks.
Watch this space ja bitte.

News; I Must Update More Often

13 02 2007

I was browsing the site earlier today when I realised I haven’t updated or put anything on here for over a week (not that anyone probably noticed as I’m not sure anyone even visits the site much at the moment).
I’ve been pretty busy lately, but I’m definitely going to try and get a bit more content on here including, but probably not limited to;

  • Podcast
I’ve been talking shit about getting a podcast for a while, but I’m always such a perfectionist that I never get mixes finished to a standard enough to put them up, but I’ll probably start this off officially next week with an old mix of mine that a lot of people were feeling.
I’ll also be pulling in mixes from other sources I thought were alright, such as the Adam Freeland: Mexico City (Teaser Mix) (although I’m unsure just how legal it is to do something like that, we shall see).
  • Radio Show Archives
As I’m sure a few people know (but most don’t) I also have a fortnightly radio show on NSB Radio which you can check out from 5-7pm GMT on the 1st & 3rd (and if there is one, 5th) Thursday of the month, so it’s atleast fortnightly. I may set up a separate podcast for these or I might be generous and just stick them in the main one, but I might not, I have no idea yet.
The shows will be archived and uploaded (hopefully) after every show, for the perusal of those of you who want to listen again, or just couldn’t be bothered to tune in when everyone else did.
  • Featured Mixes & Interviews
It’s likely I’m going to be pulling off a lot of sexual favours to get in some (hopefully exclusive) featured mixes from some decent DJ’s, artists and labels. As well as interviews from the same, and maybe some bands that I might think are worthy of interviewing. (NB: Read as ‘will want to talk to me’)

So thats probably what I’ve got to come in the next month or so, go out and tell your mum what’s going on over here, and then get her to tell her mates down the shops, because the more people who visit and check out the website/content, the bigger it will get thus the standard of the content on offer will increase.
(Almost like a cheap lady of the night, the more punters she gets, the more likely she is to get off with atleast one of them, so she’ll make sure they enjoy it too. ‘Just business ennit’)
